Mod of the Month June 2011

We might be in the middle of summer at the moment, but that hasn't stopped modders from all over the world coming up with some of the best work we've seen so far this year. We've not only got some fine modding work from Europe in June's Mod of the Month instalment, but also from both North and South America.

We've got mega water-cooled PCs, desk PCs and some stunning air-brushed eye candy, and we've also got metalwork and woodwork galore. Plenty of projects this month deserve a second look too, so we've also included links to all the nominees' project logs so you can take an in-depth look at the fantastically detailed work that went into each project.

If you're new to bit-tech and modding, or haven't ventured into our forums yet, make sure you check out our Modding and Project Logs forums, as well as our Modding section, where you'll find guides and articles written by the makers of some of the best projects we've seen.

We're proud to have the legendary Mnpctech sponsoring Mod of the Month. The Mnpctech guys are regulars on our forums and, in addition to being avid modders themselves with some world-class projects to their names, the Mnpctech online store is also well worth a visit from every modder.

Also make sure you check out the latest MNPCTech Design Contest where voting has just started for designs, which have tweaked and modified Cooler Master's HAF932 case.

The winner of Mod of the Month will get one of these awesome prizes from the Mnpctech store itself. There will be some new and exciting products from Mnpctech on the horizon too, but for now feast your eyes on these pieces of true PC bling.

Mod of the Month June 2011

Prize 1 - 'Mod of the Month' Copper Edition PC Mod Ruler by Mnpctech.

This ruler is CNC-machined from 1/8in pure copper, and weighs one pound. You can see a fantastic video showing how the ruler is made here.

Prize 2 - 3M Di-Noc Carbon Fiber Film

This looks and feels like real carbon fiber, and adheres to both flat and curved surfaces. You can apply this to power supplies, cases, monitors, keyboards, mice, drive faces, headphones, bezels, fan controllers, toggle switches and so on.

Prize 3 - 120mm 'Overkill' Honeycomb Fan Grille

This two-piece fan grille has an outer ring that was CNC milled from 1/2in thick 6061 aluminium. Meanwhile, its removable silver honeycomb grille insert is stamped from steel and provides ample airflow.

Thanks to Mnpctech for stumping up such fantastic prizes again this month. Last time, we had six new projects going head-to-head, and each one has the potential to become a big hit. The fight for first place was one of the closest ever - nearly 180 votes were cast but just two separated ExoSkeleton by Mystikal0412 and LiLi Tower by kier, who won the competition the month before. ExoSkeleton came out on top while Corsair Graphite 490T bullet by thechoozen came in third.

Back to this month, we've got six of the best for you again, so don't forget to vote for your favourite. Note that you can also now vote for more than one project if you're finding it tough to choose a favourite.
